During the summer of 2014, Ogan Malki Brown of the American Association of Brazilian Candomblé and Culture reached out to Bàbá Kọ́lá Abímbọ́la with a visionary idea to unite practitioners of Òrìṣà Ìṣẹ̀ṣe and Candomblé for a sacred series of Sunrise Prayers at the Osaka Gardens, Chicago, IL. These two traditions represent the major branches of the Òrìṣà Religion, each carrying deep ancestral wisdom and spiritual heritage. Throughout May 2014, we gathered at dawn every Sunday, offering prayers, chants, and spiritual reflections. From these heartfelt gatherings, filled with devotion and shared purpose, the Òrìṣà Spiritual Assembly was born. The Assembly is a sacred community dedicated to preserving, teaching, and celebrating the living wisdom of the Òrìṣà for generations to come.
